HEIN KLAUS HILLMER
Hein is originally from Port Elizabeth, South Africa and is a recent Atlanta Transplant by way of Austin, TX
Hein received his BA in Mass Communications with a minor in Psychology at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas. During his time at OBU, Hein was a swimmer for the university’s swim team the Tiger Sharks, part of the Production team for “The Ouachita Show,” a reporter and writer for their Yearbook, part of OBU’s International club, as well as Social Chair for his fraternity. Hein was also an OBU Tiger Serve Member, volunteering hours to helping his community as well as assisting at therapy centers.
When Hein nearly lost a close friend to a head-on collision, he began volunteering at Rehabilitation Centers where he fell in love with the hands-on expertise & specialties the therapists used to bring his friend from fully assisted-care dependent to fully self-functional.
Two years post graduation, Hein decided to change career paths from Fashion PR and begin completion of prerequisites part-time to pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During this journey, Hein has worked for multiple hospitals, surrounding himself in different settings of physical therapy treatment centers in order to grow his knowledge & experience, including registering in a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy course to better empathize with his patient/client needs.
Hein strives for all Functionize patients to feel 100% comfortable and safe, knowing that we want what's best for them - to live a fully functional lifestyle that is not limited by pain or discomfort.
Hein and his partner, Joshua, are enjoying the suburban life of Atlanta. Out of the office, Hein enjoys exploring, traveling, cooking, reading, board games, anything outdoors, and quality time with his friends. He very much enjoys meeting new people and is excited to get to know his Functionize patients or answer any questions for those who are unsure if Physical Therapy is right for them.
