Experience Postpartum Physical Therapy in Atlanta and Surrounding Areas
The Support New Moms Deserve

Once postpartum, always postpartum

No matter how long ago you've given birth, physical therapy can help you recreate the energized, pain-free, active body you've missed. Join us at Functionize, located in Dunwoody, Decatur, and Atlanta GA, for personalized post-baby care.

If it takes a village to raise a kid, then it takes a village to support a mom, too.

We love moms. We love our moms. We're even moms ourselves. So we understand how important it is for postpartum women to be surrounded by support as they transition from pregnancy to motherhood.

If you've noticed new physical challenges during your transition, we invite you to explore postpartum physical therapy. We've consciously created an environment that helps moms voice their needs, receive personalized support, and focus completely on themselves for a while—totally judgment-free.

Postpartum physical therapy is intended to help you:

  • Proactively avoid many of the common aches and pains faced by new moms

  • Connect the dots between pregnancy, labor, and delivery and any issues you're noticing now

  • Bring to light any long-standing imbalances within your body that often become even more pronounced after pregnancy

  • Witness your body's innate healing powers!

  • Enjoy fast, lasting pain relief—so you can approach the life you love with greater energy, joy, and focus

Could you benefit from postpartum physical therapy? If any of these issues hit close to home, give us a call:

  • Pain or stiffness in the neck, lower back, or hips

  • Bulging or doming in the stomach

  • Chronic fatigue

  • A feeling of pressure or heaviness in the pelvis, rectum, or vagina

  • Stomach upset or digestive problems

  • Migraines or tension headaches

  • The "mom pooch"

  • Accidentally letting out urine while laughing, sneezing, coughing, lifting weights, or picking up your kids

  • Feeling unable to get back to the activities you love, like running, cycling, swimming, lifting, and tennis

These issues are more common than people realize—but in the hubbub of growing a family, many women feel like they have to sweep them under the rug.

It doesn't have to be that way. You don't have to feel guilty about wanting to improve the way you look and the way you feel. And you can show up for yourself just like you show up for your family, colleagues, clients, and community.

We're here to help!

Postpartum Physical Therapy at Functionize: What to Expect

On average, women have as many as 14 prenatal appointments with a healthcare provider before giving birth—and only ONE appointment after. We believe that moms who want more deserve more.

At Functionize, we start every woman's postpartum physical therapy journey with a conversation. We'll listen to you with open ears, so we can really start to understand your experience and your vision for your future.

From there, we'll proceed with a tailored examination to learn about your movement and unique challenges. If there's anything we can offer on day one to help with any discomfort, we'll offer it. We'll also make sure you leave with an action plan, so you can start seeing progress right away.

Be sure to ask us about our exclusive return to running program for postpartum moms!
