JAKE REYNOLDS PT, DPT, OCS
PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Raised in a large family centered around competition and teamwork, Jake is ingrained with the “earned, not given” mindset. Awarded a swimming scholarship to the University of Alabama, he served as the team captain and 4-year letterman, while pursuing higher education.
Jake’s experience as an athlete drove his interest and infatuation with physical therapy. Complimenting his lifelong passion for anatomy, biomechanics, performance and optimal health, Jake knew that the healthcare system was missing critical components people needed to move beyond symptoms and understand what was at the core of their personal health and wellness.
This commitment to setting a new standard of care hallmarked by a unique approach and custom plan for each and every patient ultimately brought him to the Functionize team.
Jake received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Mercer University, where he also completed an orthopedic clinical residency upon graduating from his doctorate program. Pursuing residency training was important to Jake because he felt this additional training in orthopedic manual physical therapy, clinical reasoning, pain science, and mentorship would afford him the additional expertise to better serve his patients. After completing his residency, Jake became a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
Bringing his extensive education and personal experience with sports-related injuries and persistent pain, Jake is able to identify with his clients on a deep level. His goal for each individual under his charge is self-efficacy, empowerment, consistency and commitment to their healthiest, happiest life.
Jake is a firm believer that pain and injuries do not have to be your future – although they may be a part of the journey, how you overcome them is key to controlling your life.
Outside of physical therapy, Jake is an avid everyday athlete. He enjoys swimming, running, and playing golf. A fierce Alabama football fan, you are not hard pressed to find Jake watching any and all forms of sports. When he’s not hard at work, he is eating at various restaurants and coffee shops around the Southeast. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his parents, six brothers and three sisters, their spouses, and his niece and nephew.
